Happy New Year!!!!!

Hi everyone. Merry Christmas once again!!! Today is the last day of the year 2009. Oh my, time really flies (when you're having fun). I won't say this year is a bad year for me but there are ups and downs along the way.. As usual, I don't have any resolution for the brand new year because if i do have one, I know I won't be able to accomplish it. So, que sera sera, what ever will be, will be....

Since I am staying far away from my family, there will be no new year eve celebration today. Perhaps, I will be staying at home watching TV only.. boringgg.... and do the old school ritual, take a bath at 12.00am to wash away all the bad lucks. buang sial kunun orang bilang.. Do I believe in this kind of thing, I'm not so sure but it will do no harm right..
masuk angin ja la kali mandi pagi-pagi buta...

Happy New Year everyone. May the year of the Tiger brings good fortune for all of us...

The Newly Weds

Carol, a Kadazan from Penampang is my uni coursemate and also my colleague. We were posted in the same school in 2007. Her husband, a Rungus from Kudat is also a special education teacher in Putrajaya. They first met at KKIA when they went to receive their flight ticket there. So I guess it was love at first sight. Isn't it Carol??

David is Jetro's best friend and Sharon is my junior in university. And they were actually classmate when they were in secondary school. It was my first time attending a Dusun Lotud wedding and it was a very colourful celebration indeed.

Pedrew is Jetro's eldest brother and her wife happened to be my junior in uni too. It is a marriage between a Sabahan and a Sarawakian, a Kadazan and an Iban. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to their wedding reception held in KDCA because I went back early to Klang to attend the school meeting. Anyway, I'm happy to do my part during the wedding preparation.

Congratulations to all newly weds and may God bless all of you always..

I'm so happy to hear that many of my friends finally get their transfer to the place they wished for after such a long time. No matter how you get your transfer people, with or without "cable" (you know what I mean..hehehe), I must congratulate you all for being so patience and never give up. All the best to all teachers who finally get their transfer..

To my Dearest Jetro,

Happy Birthday to you.. You turned 28 on the 3rd of November 2009... Don't worry, age is just a number. As the saying by Abraham Lincoln goes, "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." Just appreciate every moment of your life and try to live life to the fullest.

Jetro dear,

Being together for 8 years, I've tried to give you the best gift I can ever give on your birthday. But this year, I've been thinking hard about the gift I should give you. But in the end, I gave you nothing... Just a simple treat in a restaurant. Run out of ideas already bah dear... :). Thank God you never complain..

Happy Birthday once again dear... May the good God above showers you with His never ending blessing..

Love you always ...

Yours,
~ Wina ~

Happy Wedding Day...

to Liberty and Marina.

Jetro and I went to witness their marriage blessing ceremony on the 1st of November 2009 at the Church Of Our Lady Of Lourdes, Klang. Liberty and Marina together with 6 more couples received their blessing on that day. It was a very beautiful ceremony indeed and it was very touching when one of the brides cried when she said the
marriage vows and had to repeat it for 3 times..

To Liberty and Marina,
May both of you have a good life ahead and don't forget to keep your marriage vows alive.

Macam sama pula muka dorang ni...

Congratulations once again to Liberty and Marina...

Kotobian Tadau Pisasawaan

kumaa dii Uncle George om ii Aunty Rosita...

Congratulations to both of you..

They have been together for ages through thick and thin. They engaged with each other for a very long period of time, had postponed their big day several times, dealt with a lot of family matters.. But, these circumstances did not affect their relationship and they finally became husband and wife on the 22nd September 2009....

in this beautiful church

My brother and I went bac
k to Tambunan just to celebrate this beautiful wedding since George is our last uncle (mum's brother) to wed. Everyone was there to celebrate his big day and it was unbelievable that all his siblings were there to celebrate the event. I myself had a very enjoyable day during the celebration. Now I wonder what should I call George after this... Uncle George or just George????? All of us, his nieces and nephews used to call him George only and never call him Uncle (because he dislikes it).. If we call him George then we have to call his wife Rosita... LOL!!! It seems a little rude, isn't it?? I guess I have to learn how to call him Uncle from now on...^_^

The 4 sisters
(from left to right - mum, auntie ninie, auntie rose and auntie jane with their parents)

The colour they chose for their wedding ~ Blue + Maroon. No wonder they look sooo blue in the picture. Managed to snap a family photo before the holy matrimony inside the church but my sister, Charlene was not inside the pic because she had to work on that day. Kesian gia... Jan jeles ahh.. lain kali ada chance lagi tu...

I like event like this simply because it brings families and friends together and getting the chance to experience the long forgotten tradition of Dusun wedding once again... But frankly speaking, I actually miss those home made tradisional drinks a.k.a tapai, tumpung, lihing, tinogoie and so on.... Aramaiitiee....^_^

Counting the days

1 month seems like forever... Just can't wait to be back to my home sweet home. I miss my families and friends. And you too...

A Gift...

from a very special person... Thanks Dear, really like it very much.

The Rosary Prayer

went smoothly at my house. Everyone was full with the foods we prepared and the gathering was really a blessed one.. No photos were taken because we were too busy entertaining the guests and Jetro & I only realized it after everyone left. Praise Lord for giving us such a wonderful moment.

Gathering...

October, the month of Rosary.

Today a group of people will be coming to my house for the Rosary prayer. Thanks a lot to the Malay Language Group Ministry of Church of Our Lady Of Lourdes for being so generous to come over to conduct the prayer. The ministry will be going to 3 houses all located in the same housing area tonight and mine will be the last one..

After a discussion with the other 2 lovely ladies, we agreed that the makan-makan session be held at my house. The 3 of us had decided to cook a simple meal for all of us and I"ll be in charge in preparing fruit, beverages, eating utensils, nuggets and be the driver to take all the foods from Jesse and Lucia's place to my house.

Feel excited over this event not only because of the prayer but it is also a time for Sabahans living in Klang to have a simple gathering and feel like home..

I'll be going to Lucia's house at 3pm today to help her out and hopefully everything is going to be just as we planned.. Will be updating the event here in my blog later on.. Till then, have a wonderful Saturday and Happy Deepavali people!!!

My first time...

I think everyone knows that Klang is famous for having a very heavy traffic every day with all the honking made from the uncivilised drivers plus the overtaking actions made by our irresponsible drivers... No wonder the rate of accidents in our country is increasing every year.

Now my story goes like this:

I was appointed to be one of the teachers in charge of looking after all the PMR candidates in a girl school. Before the exam, I were to go for a meeting held in the same school and it is quite far from my place.

I got my P driving license 2 months ago..tua-tua baru mo ambi lesen ni...I took 2 driving tests because I failed my first test.. and soon after I received my license from my instructor, I forced myself driving in this chaotic Klang because Jeth is not around. Before I went for the meeting on the actual day, I prayed the Rosary. Then I began my journey and moved slowly.. only 60-70km/h
. FYI, I was driving a manual transmission car and the thing that terrified me the most was the slope along the road crossing Klang River. What if I can't control my car and crash the car behind me??!!!
This went over and over inside my mind.. Only God knows how I feel at that moment and I shivered along the journey. But GOD is so good for HE gave me a very smooth and safe journey. It was unbelievable when the traffic was smooth and all the other drivers were patient with me and the good thing was, they did not honk me even once. Thanks JC.. I was relieved when I returned home in one piece..

I guess people do understand this statement...

This is my first experience driving alone in Klang and it terrified me a bit... If I were given a choice, I don't want to drive ALONE in a place so chaotic. But, I have to do so because my better half was away and I'm on my own. This experience actually teach me a lot of things and I'm very thankful for it. I'm still a novice driver and hope to improve my driving skills in the future.. For the record, the furthest place I went so far by driving was to LCC Terminal...:) and yet still can't get over my pet peeve: DRIVING ALONE AT NIGHT...

Coming home

How I miss my better half. It has been a week and tomorrow Jeth is finally coming home from Tawau. FINALLY....Though I know he will be going somewhere else for his job assignments again, I am still grateful he is coming home tomorrow. My brother and I will be going to LCC Terminal to fetch him there.. Dear God, may we all have a safe journey, Amen..

This is the routine of my life when I'm all alone at home...

  • 7.00am - Go to school on foot
  • 1.30pm - Go home on foot again
  • 2.00pm - Surfing the net
  • 4.00 pm - Sleep
  • 7.00pm - Dinner time
  • 8.00pm - Surfing the net
  • 11.30pm - Zzzz

And it goes on everyday... Kind of enjoying it though..:)
